Council Meeting - July 24, 2025

Agenda includes:

  • Presentation - County of Wellington - Property Assessment & Impact on the Municipal tax base

  • Delegation - Alex Ciccone, Garrod Pickfield LLP

  • Report - Zoning By-law Amendments and Conditions of Draft Approval - Coscorp and Mattamy, Eighth Line

  • Appointment - Town’s Representative to the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) Board of Directors

  • Report - Water Rate Study & Financial Plan

  • Award of RFP - transmission water main work

  • Award of RFP - Engineering Design Services  to complete the detailed design, permitting, pubic consultation, tender documentation, sanitary sewer connection by-law preparation - as part of the Housing Enabling Water System Fund $29,473,750

  • Consideration of Notices of Motions

    • Councillor Ryan - Opposition to Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025

    • Councillor Ryan - Bill 17, Protect Ontario by Building Faster and Smarter Act, 2025

Identifies the levels of service and the cost of maintaining the following:

  • 360+ km of roads, 48 bridges and culverts

  • 10 parks, 4 ball diamonds, 7 soccer pitches, 2 arenas, 3 community centres, community trails, 9 cemeteries

  • 1750 m of water mains & service lines

  • 1 wastewater system - under construction

  • 23 buildings - 1 admin, 2 fire, 6 parks and recreation, 4 roads, 10 water

  • 25 land improvements - 3 admin, 22 parks & rec

  • 58 vehicles

  • machinery - admin, fire, parks and rec, roads, streetlights, water

Upper Credit Humane Society

This process will allow both parties to have the time to plan for the future. Council has not made a decision on the future use of the property.
