Public Meeting - May 22, 2025

Zoning By-law Amendment - 5483 Trafalgar Rd

On April 24th, I put forward a motion in recognition of Earth Day 2025.

As part of our commitment to our newly adopted Strategic Plan and its focus on environmental sustainability, I will be asking for Council support to take another step toward building a more eco-conscious future by launching an Environmental Sustainability page on the new municipal website coming later this year. This page could help residents learn about local green initiatives, upcoming events, and simple everyday actions they can take to support conservation and climate resilience. To guide this effort, a temporary committee could be formed, including members of the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee and other local experts - to help shape the content and connect people with practical tools and resources. Every small action counts, and this is just the beginning of our broader Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.

I am looking forward to discussing this motion with my Council colleagues on May 8th.
