Generator at Centre 2000
Centre 2000 Arena will be closed until Wednesday, July 2, 2025, due to a power shutdown required to complete the final electrical work for the installation of the new emergency generator, which was part of the Erin Community Centre construction project. Rentals and programs in the Theatre and Shamrock Room are not impacted by the shutdown. All affected user groups have been notified in advance and have made alternate arrangements. All inquiries can be directed to recreation@erin.ca.
Water
The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), the authority that maintains Erin’s municipal water supply, will be sending personnel onto properties - where applicable - to do a water meter reading by tapping a black data box located on the side, back, or front of their house with a data receiver that records water usage. The next scheduled readings for Q2 will take place starting the last week of June.

I will wrap up this bulletin with a topic that I am very passionate about.
In 10 months (May 1, 2026), nominations open for the 2026 municipal election. We want the best and brightest people to step up to serve our community.
“Qualified candidates may not step forward, and women currently holding office may leave. This deprives our communities of diverse perspectives and effective leadership.”
Mayor Marianne Meed Ward
Today, democracy is under pressure. Public distrust is rising, and personal attacks, harassment, and inappropriate conduct in political spaces are becoming more common.
It’s time to restore civility and respect to the public square.
Harassment and abuse are undermining our democracy. Together, we can rebuild a culture where everyone, candidates, elected officials, and the public, can participate in democracy free from fear or intimidation. Our democracy depends on it.
