Hello

Thank you, Erin. I’m honoured to have been re-elected as your Councillor. Thank you to everyone who voted, reached out, shared their thoughts, or offered support during the campaign. Your confidence means a great deal, and I don’t take that trust lightly.

Serving on Council has been a huge privilege and learning experience.

A new chapter for Council

Congratulations to Mayor-Elect Dusty Scott and Councillor-Elect Tracey Wallace. I look forward to working with you both.

Saying I will miss Mayor Dehn and Councillor Ryan is an understatement. You each taught me so much, and I’m grateful to have served alongside you. Thank you for your service to our community and for your part in my growth as a Councillor.

Congratulations to Councillor John Brennan and Councillor Jamie Cheyne. Thank you for your continued service to this community.

Recognizing everyone who stepped forward

Thank you to every candidate who put their name forward. Running for office takes courage, time and a genuine commitment to the place we call home. Regardless of the outcome, that willingness to participate in local democracy deserves recognition.

A huge thank you to the Town of Erin election team. Voter turnout was 39.45% (4,808 ballots cast) compared to 36.1% (3,363 ballots cast) in the last election in 2022.

To my campaign team: thank you. Your unwavering support, your time and energy made a difference. You helped, advised, spread the word and reminded me why this work matters. I could not have done it without you.

Looking ahead

Now it’s time to turn to the work ahead. Erin continues to evolve, and today’s decisions will shape the community we leave for the next generation.

I will continue to approach this role with conviction, commitment and clear communication. I will keep sharing information about Council’s work so you can understand the issues and the choices being made.

Thank you, Erin, for your trust, your encouragement and your continued engagement. I’m looking forward to getting back to work.

What is a Round-up?

I am excited to get back to my regular Councillor Round-ups. If you are a new subscriber, here is what you can expect.

Round-ups are my way of sharing key updates in one place. I usually publish these updates twice a month, about a week before each Council meeting, when the agenda is released. I include links to reports for anyone who wants to dig deeper. My Round-ups are organized by the pillars of our Strategic Plan, so you can see at a glance how day-to-day work connects to our larger goals. I also highlight a few lighter items, such as community events, local initiatives, and the special things that make our community vibrant.

Council Meeting Schedule

Here is how the new term is starting:

  • November 16 – Inauguration

  • November 26 & 27 – Council Orientation

  • January 23- 26 – ROMA conference (Rural Ontario Municipalities Association)

  • January 28, 2027 – Council Meeting
