Hello,
Council is back to its regular schedule (2nd and 4th Thursday of each month), so that means back to regular Councillor Round-ups! I share these updates about a week before each meeting, when the agenda is released.
My goal is to ensure you don’t have to dig through reports, scroll through social media, or guess what’s happening. It’s my way of keeping you informed, engaged, and connected to the decisions that shape our community.

Council Meeting - September 11, 2025
Agenda includes:
Presentation - Safe Communities Wellington County - Community Safety and WellBeing Plan
Records Classification and Retention Schedule (RCRS) and Records and Information Management (RIM) Policy
Phase 3 Subdivision Agreement - National Properties Inc.
National Properties is seeking to proceed with the registration of the Plan of Subdivision for Phase 3 of the Erin Glen development located south of WCR 124 and west of Tenth Line.
Phase 3 represents the final release of 191 residential units in the Erin Glen development.
Short Term Rental Accommodations Work Program
Staff are reporting as a result of a Notice of Motion approved at the June 26, 2025, Regular Meeting directing staff to present a work program to implement a regulatory framework for short term rentals in the Town of Erin. · The multi-phase work program will result in an amendment to the Town’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law and the development of a licensing by-law to enable the Town to regulate Short Term Rentals. The work program is expected to take approximately eight to 10 months to complete and will include public consultation such as an online survey and public information centre to inform the drafting of a regulatory framework that reflects a “made in Erin” approach.
As of May 2025, 59 STR listings have been identified.
Notice of Intention to Designate Heritage Properties – Town of Erin (Erin Village)
In January 2025, the Town initiated the heritage designation process for the next group of listed heritage properties in Erin Village by issuing a non-statutory Advisory Letter to the registered owners of the following properties: 46 Main Street, 94 Main Street, 98 Main Street, 100 Main Street, 102 Main Street, 108-110 Main Street, 115 Main Street, 119 Main Street, 126 Main Street, 132 Main Street, 156 Main Street, 157 Main Street, 158 Main Street, 162 Main Street and 163 Main Street.
Second Quarter Financial Report for the Period Ending
As of June 30, 2025, for the second quarter ending June 30, 2025, the Town of Erin is reporting a year-to-date deficit of approximately $486,000, reflecting expenses that have exceeded revenues during the first half of the year. This is a point-in-time result, influenced by seasonal factors, the timing of expenditures, and extraordinary events. Staff are actively monitoring variances, and several of the pressures experienced to date are expected to balance out by year-end.

Goal: Cultivate a thriving, inclusive community with dynamic events, improved accessibility, and top-tier amenities.
