My Priorities

Let's make sure Erin always feels like home.

Erin is evolving, and that brings new opportunities and complex challenges to our community.

Here are my 7 priorities to move Erin forward, with community at the center of it all.

These aren't campaign promises. This is what I stand for, and what I'll do if re-elected.

No fancy brochure. Just the facts. Presented the way I serve: honestly and directly.

1. Cost Controls - Ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely.

2. Critical Infrastructure - Keeping daily life running safely and smoothly.

3. Communication & Consultation - Listening first, informing residents every step of the way.

4. Connection - Creating opportunities and places for people to connect.

5. Clean and Green - Protecting our natural beauty, resources and rural roots.

6. Comprehensive Planning - Evolving at the right pace, in the right places.

7. Commerce - Attracting and supporting businesses for a strong local economy.

1. Cost Controls

Ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely.

I believe fiscal responsibility means living within our means, not repeatedly leaning on the tax stabilization reserve to balance the books. That's why I've consistently pushed back on budget growth I saw as unsustainable.  I voted against the 2026 budget as it grew from a proposed 2.5% to 3.8%, and put forward a motion, passed unanimously, directing staff to review the budget for savings and report back with a clear recovery plan to restore the deficit and replenish the reserve. With your continued support, I'll keep pushing for real accountability and improved financial processes, so our budget reflects genuine fiscal discipline. read more about it here

2. Critical Infrastructure

Keeping daily life running safely and smoothly.

I believe safe, livable communities start with a real plan for how people and vehicles move around, not a piecemeal approach. That's why I've made this a defining priority: pushing for a town-wide Transportation Master Plan covering every way people get around by car, truck, foot, and bike. I advocated for its funding in the 2025 budget, put forward the motion to fast-track it, and saw it adopted in December 2025. With your continued support, I will focus on moving it into implementation and turning it into real change on the ground. read more about it here

3. Communication & Consultation

Listening first, informing residents every step of the way.

I believe residents deserve to understand not just what decisions Council makes, but why they matter and how they affect the community. That's why I've published regular news bulletins and website updates to keep people informed in plain language, and pushed for a serious clean-up of our new Communication Policy after an initial 28-page draft proved too unwieldy to actually use. With your continued support, I'll keep up my regular updates and advocate for the policy's consistent adoption across all departments, because an informed community is a stronger one. read more about communication here

Consultation: my bottom line is there's never enough of it. For four years, residents have told me the same thing - they don't know what's being decided or how it affects them.  With your continued support, I want to refresh our 2018 Citizen Engagement Charter around a clear framework - Inform, Consult, Involve, Collaborate, Empower - with more Town Halls and evening meetings. read more about consultation here

4. Connection

Creating opportunities and places for people to connect.

I believe strong communities are built when strangers become neighbours and neighbours become community, and that community events are central to building that trust and local economic activity. That's why I put forward the motion, passed unanimously, directing staff to create a Community Events Information Hub, and launched a directory of local events and community groups on my own website. With your continued support, I'll keep pushing for the events hub to be implemented and updated, and for increased Community Grants funding to meet the growing demand from local volunteer organizations.  read more about it here

5. Clean and Green

Protecting our natural beauty, resources and rural roots.

I believe Clean and Green means committing to pass on a healthier, more resilient community to the next generation, not treating sustainability as a placeholder on a document. That's why I helped bring an Environmental Stewardship pillar into our new Strategic Plan, then put forward the motion, passed unanimously, to move it from paper to action. With your continued support, I'll push for a Green Lens on every Council report and real budget dollars behind this pillar in 2027.
