Submitted By: Councillor Brennan
Introduction Date: May 28, 2026
Consideration Date: June 11, 2026
Subject Matter: Rehabilitation of Gravel Pits
Whereas, a recent site alteration agreement between the Town of Erin and the operator of a gravel pit has generated significant public concern and confusion regarding the applicable requirements for pit rehabilitation;
And whereas, given the number and age of existing gravel pits within the Town, similar circumstances may arise in the future;
Therefore, be it resolved that Council directs staff to review the input received from the public, in conjunction with staff research, and to consult with the appropriate ministries of the Government of Ontario to identify any alternative methodologies that may be available to support future pit closure and rehabilitation efforts.

Candidate Tracker
Check out my Candidate Tracker for a list of who's running and related media links.
In addition to the Town's website, I have created this Candidate Tracker to help residents easily find information about ALL declared candidates in one place. By linking publicly available social channels and media coverage, it will give voters a simple, neutral and transparent way to learn more about each candidate and make informed choices in the upcoming election. The voter turnout in 2022 in the Town of Erin was 36%. We can do better!
Make sure you are on the voters' list! Ontario's voter registration process has changed. The Municipal Voters List is now managed through Elections Ontario instead of Municipal Property Assessment Cooperation (MPAC).
Residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to:
Confirm they are registered to vote
Update their information if needed
Add themselves to the voters list if they are not already registered
Checking or updating your voter registration is quick and easy. You can confirm whether you’re already registered or add your name to the voters’ list online in just a few minutes at www.registertovoteon.ca
Checking your information now can help make voting easier during the 2026 Municipal Election.

Recycling Changes for the Town of Erin
Wellington County is undergoing changes to its recycling program. Starting in mid-August, Wellington County will transition to an enhanced curbside recycling system that includes a new recycling cart and collection schedule. Recycling carts will be delivered throughout July and will be accepted starting mid-August.
Garbage will transition to a bin system in a couple of years.
